🤪Lousy Labeling: Non GMO project
Simon Maechling - “…labeling water as "non-GMO" is not only misleading but scientifically meaningless. The rise of such labels can be attributed to marketing tactics aimed at capitalizing on consumer fears surrounding GMOs, despite the lack of scientific basis for applying these concerns to a substance like water.
It creates unnecessary confusion and promotes the idea that ordinary products require validation through labels that are irrelevant to their nature. The presence of such labels does more to undermine scientific literacy than to protect consumers from any real threat.”

Question #1: Why did you want to become a dietitian?
Answer: “Growing up, I encountered firsthand the difficulties associated with managing weight and the limited access to specialized professionals who could provide the necessary guidance and support…By becoming a dietitian, I aim to bridge the gap in accessibility to expert nutritional advice and support, ensuring that others do not have to face the same barriers I once encountered.”
Question #2: What is your favorite Romanian dish or meal?
Answer: “My favorite traditional dish is "mămăliguță cu sarmale și varză murată," which translates to "polenta with stuffed cabbage rolls and sauerkraut." Mămăliguță is a traditional Romanian cornmeal porridge.11It is made by boiling cornmeal in water until it reaches a thick, creamy consistency, similar to Italian polenta but typically firmer. Sarmale are cabbage rolls filled with a m(onixture of minced pork or a blend of pork and beef, rice, onions, and various spices. These rolls are wrapped in pickled cabbage leaves and slowly cooked in a tomato-based sauce, resulting in a savory and hearty dish. Varză murată, or sauerkraut, is fermented cabbage that adds a tangy and refreshing contrast to the meal.”

How to Spot Malnutrition
Dietitian Angel Planells quoted: “…Malnutrition is especially common among older adults in nursing homes and hospitals. One study found that about a third of well-nourished patients who enter the hospital become malnourished during their stay. People suffering from malnutrition have higher rates of bone fractures, are more likely to experience prolonged hospitalization, and have less successful treatment outcomes. Malnutrition also increases the risk of death.”
Why Is Unintended Weight Loss a Big Deal in Older Adults?

I've also seen "non-GMO-Verified" salt. No DNA there either. Major marketing gimmick. Do consumers think that somehow it's "healthier" salt?
