Question#1: What do you do now and what do you like best about it?
“I work for the International Food Information Council, or IFIC. I’m fortunate to have been with IFIC since 2009…I’ve been Donvery lucky in my career to be surrounded by the smartest, most supportive, dedicated professionals…the exposure, engagement, and opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the nutrition world. It inspires me every day to be better; to approach the work we do with a wider lens that provides more value to more people.
Q2: What's one nutrition or food fact you've learned recently that really surprised you?
“…the most surprising food factoid that I learned lately is that the majority of Community Supporter Agriculture (CSA) managers are female (~60% according to the USDA, 2017).”

❓Q/A in our Build Up Dietitians CLINICAL group
Answers:
Susan G. “Yes if there is any intention of working with clients and their medical conditions.”
Quinn B. “Yes!…I can’t imagine going into another job where I needed to know about medical conditions without having a couple years of clinical experience. And honestly, even if clinical wasn’t a passion, I would still recommend it to get a solid foundation before moving on...”
Rachel K. “Yes! But* probably also depends on the intern and their level completing their internship. Most interns I've had want to open private practice straight out of their internship. For those, I do recommend getting some more foundational skills…You gain so much confidence and see things you probably didn’t get in those first couple years.”
Nicole G. “No. We’ve had a few interns who clearly are community oriented… Some people just don’t fit in a clinical environment. RDs are needed in community and food service - in fact if more food service was run by RDs it would make clinical RDs lives easier.”
Hannah S. “Yes! You get so much experience and get to learn about so many different conditions and MNT.”
