Question #1: What’s your current role?
Answer: “I am transitioning into a role as Health Services Administrator with the Alabama Dept of Public Health HIV Prevention and Care Program. I am not going to be working solely as an RDN. I am also doing consulting work in long term care…”
Question #2: How would you advise someone new in dietetics?
Answer: “…. be confident and show leadership in your profession regardless of the role you are in. There are other healthcare providers without as much education or experience as you have as a RDN…more even than MDs. Be confident as an RDN, and never stop learning, reading and expanding your knowledge in your niche field of dietetics whether that is eating disorders, clinical, diabetes, long term care, etc. You are the nutrition expert, and you will need to confidently display this in your career, work, and even personal life. We need outspoken and confident professionals in this field.”
