Question #1:   What is your role now as a dietitian and how long have you been in this type of position?

“I work at a PACE program, helping the frail elderly stay at home through their end of life. I've been there for about 4 years…Right now I have a vegetable garden going with the participants, and I lead a food demo or lecture a few times per month. The core of my job is making sure people have access to food, remain a stable weight, and stay safe in the kitchen…”

Question #2: What's one thing you like best about being a dietitian?

“… validating what people are already doing, that they don't think is healthy because it's common or simple. You feel guilty about having a peanut butter sandwich and carrot sticks for lunch? My friend, that is vegetables, grain, protein, and complementary proteins to boot. Scrambled eggs with cheese for dinner? That's a protein and dairy -- put it on toast and you're up to three food groups again!”
