âWhy Build Up Dietitians Isnât on Twitter/âXâ Anymore
Well, itâs actually more of a weaning process since we havenât closed out our account on Twitter/âXââŚyet. But, after 10 years itâs time, at least for us, to turn off the đĄlights and leave the roomâŚbecause the partyâs over.
Twitter was once a vibrant fun community but has deteriorated into a sordid mess (some refer to it as a âhellscapeâ orđŠ âsh*tshow'). Ever since Elon Musk (sorry, we know his momâs dietitian- Maye Musk) bought the platform, itâs gotten worse and worse. While trolling has always existed on Twitter; the number of trolls now, along with negativity, racism, politicalization, misogyny and outright hatred makes it unsustainable to be a userâŚbesides that, most of the fun people have fled to other platforms.
So, where can you find Build Up Dietitians on social media? Besides Substack - which is quickly becoming a favorite - you can find Build Up Dietitians on:
(We are also on đ§ľThreads, but not very active because it didnât really pan out the way we thought it would.)

Question #1: What is your current position and what other roles/positions have you held as a dietitian?
Currently: Outpatient bariatric dietitianÂ
Other jobs Iâve had: Outpatient & community dietitian; Clinical/in-patient RD; Diabetes educator for pharmaceutical company; Certified pump and CGM instructorÂ
Question #2: Whatâs one myth about obesity you would like to address?
ââŚthat is only has to do with excessive food intake or one's lack of exercise.  To me, obesity has a strong mental component and often someone needs to get to the "why" behind some of their lifestyle choices.  It's often habits that need to be worked on and getting away from bad and good food and the guilt that can go along with eating for some people.  Food is so often connected to emotions.  My goal is for the people I work with to develop a health relationship with food to help them live a happier healthier life.â
